Jersey City / HISTORIC RENOVATION
This is our first project in the Mcginley Square Neighborhood on a brick row home-lined street. This fully gut-renovated corner brownstone is located on an oversized lot giving it an amazingly large backyard.
The renovation included making four large bedrooms and two large bathrooms with a ton of light filtering into all of the rooms due to how the home is situated on the irregular lot.
Our favorite detail of this home is the front door. The front doors were found at a local antique door warehouse and are 130-year-old imported Italian mahogany double doors.
Once you enter you will find an open floor plan with 11-foot ceilings, 2 fireplaces, a large living room, a formal dining area, chef’s kitchen with access to the backyard. The exposed white oak staircases to both the upstairs and garden level and white oak flooring throughout.
Upstairs there are three large bedrooms and a full bath with a separate tub, an in-wall toilet, a double vanity, and a standing shower.
On the garden level, there is one bedroom, a living room, a laundry room, and a full bath with a marble sink and walk-in shower. There is also access to both the huge backyard and garage.
Since this was an investment property we did not have the budget and ability to add all of the finishing touches as we typically do for a single-family home, but the light and space of this home make it easy for any new homeowner to make it their own.
