Jersey City / HISTORIC RENOVATION

In downtown Jersey City, history and craftsmanship converge in a masterful restoration of a classic Jersey City brownstone. Originally a three-family residence, this full-gut renovation reimagines the space as a grand single-family home while preserving every ounce of its historic charm. From the re-leveled floors to the hand-finished details, every element of the home has been thoughtfully reintroduced to honor its 19th-century character while meeting the expectations of modern living.

As you enter through the restored brownstone façade and iron garden gate, the grand parlor level welcomes you with timeless elegance. The main entry flows into a gracious living and dining area anchored by two reconstructed historic fireplaces. Custom plaster moldings, an architecturally rich archway, and a bespoke kitchen bring warmth and sophistication to this central gathering space. Every window was replaced with new, historically appropriate wood sashes, ensuring both energy efficiency and authenticity.

The garden level is designed for versatility and comfort, featuring a family room, office, and full bath. A large sliding door opens to a beautifully landscaped backyard—an urban oasis complete with a working fountain, brick planters, and a built-in gas grill, ideal for outdoor entertaining. The reimagined garden entry, flanked by lush plantings and wrought iron detailing, ties the outdoor and indoor experiences together seamlessly.

Upstairs, the second floor features a custom millwork laundry room, two generous bedrooms, a home office, and a children’s bathroom designed with both function and elegance in mind. The top floor is devoted to the grand primary suite, where herringbone floors, plaster moldings, and abundant storage create a serene retreat. The spa-inspired en suite bathroom offers a soaking tub, walk-in shower, and private toilet area, all designed with an eye toward luxury and tranquility.

Every inch of this home reflects an unwavering commitment to detail—where the legacy of the past meets the comfort of the present.

Tradition reimagined—where craftsmanship, heritage, and modern comfort coexist in perfect harmony.

“We always felt like we were her main priority. She was always available for a question, she didn’t abandon us and leave us in the dark at any point, and she really took the time to understand what we were looking to achieve within the constraints of Historic Preservation.”
